artsXR VR projects showcased at Tate Exchange, Uni to Unicorns event March 2020

artsXR welcomed some two thousand members of Tate public to explore the future of new immersive arts at the Digital Maker Collective, Uni to Unicorns event March 2020 at tate Modern, London. Tate public were invited to experience artsXR projects including: Millbank Prison VR, Britain’s national Penitentiary, 1816 to 1890, and how we experience, time, absence and empathy using virtual reality. To Steping into a VR artwork that visualises the composition of air and pollution particles. to explore the future of new immersive arts.

artsXR collaborated with Delfina Art Foundation residents artist duo Matterlurgy

artsXR collaborated with with Delfina Art Foundation residents artist duo Matterlurgy and scientists to develop an immersive art VR artwork that visualises the composition of air and pollution particles. artsXR at Tate Britain, Late at Tate July 2019

artsXR showcased Pentagon No 6. at Extended Realities event: Visitors were invited to explore the concept of imagined histories and how we experience, time, absence & empathy through immersive art.

Extended Realities, late at Tate Britain July 2019: Exploring contextual parameters in the form of an immersive experience in Virtual Reality, the DMC has created an immersive walk through the Millbank Penitentiary (Millbank Prison) re-imagining the notorious Victorian London prison which once occupied the location of Tate Britain. What connects the physical presence of the user to the empathic experience? How does time and the absence of reality relate to the user?

This project was the inspiration and catalyst for the creation of the artsXR studio.

BEDLAM Prototype

Delivery of VR prototype for BEDLAM with Mat Collishaw Studio and Minky Production. BEDLAM is an art installation and VR experience created by Mat Collishaw. It depicts Bethlehem Hospital, the world’s first “hospital for lunatics” as it was in the 17th century. December 2019 - January 2020
